Arkansas Aging Initiative (AAI)

Seven Centers on Aging are being established in Arkansas in each AHEC region to improve the quality of life for older adults and their families. These Centers are being developed by the Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging in partnership with the AGEC, Area Health Education Centers (AHEC), local communities and local and regional hospitals, and will provide programming for the entire region.

The mission of the Arkansas Aging Initiative is to:

  • Develop an infrastructure to improve health outcomes of Arkansans through interdisciplinary clinical care and innovative education programs
  • Influence health policy at the state and national level with emphasis on care of rural older adults
